Merge Organisations

The Merge Organisations function enables users to combine two regulatory organisations into a single entity. This feature is designed to reduce duplication and maintain accurate and consolidated data across TasScript.

When organisations are merged, their associated data is unified under a single organisation profile.

Why Use the Merge Organisations Function?

  • Consolidation: Avoid confusion caused by duplicate organisation entries.

  • Accuracy: Ensure a unified and consistent profile for a merged organisation.

  • Data Integrity: Retain important data during the merging process.

How to Use Merge Organisations

Follow these steps to merge organisations:

  1. From the Admin menu, select Merge Organisations.

  2. Select Organisations to merge:

    1. Search for the Merge from Organisation. This organisation will be deleted as a result of the merge.

    2. Select the Merge to Organisation. This organisation will be retained after the merge.

    Merging organisations is permanent and irreversible. Double-check your selections before confirming to ensure that you are merging the correct entities.

  3. Click the Merge button to complete the process.

  4. At the confirmation prompt, click Proceed.

Not all fields merge. Some details of the Merge from Organisation will be lost.

Organisations of different types cannot be merged—for example, if you select a pharmacy as the Merge from Organisation, then you can only merge it into another pharmacy.

Can I undo a merge? Merges cannot be undone. Deletion of the Merge from Organisation is permanent.
What if I accidentally merge the wrong organisations? As merging is not reversible, a new organisation will need to be created.
Why isn’t the organisation I want to merge found when searching?

Only Organisations created by regulatory users within the Management Portal can be merged. Additionally, the Merge from Organisation and Merge to Organisation are required to be of the same Organisation Type.

Pharmacy/Pharmacy, Practice/Practice can be merged but not Practice/Pharmacy or Pharmacy/Practice.
What data is lost during a merge?

Values within the Merge from Organisation are not retained when merging, including:

“from” practice:

  • Name

  • HPI-O

  • Phone

  • Email

  • Address

“from” pharmacy:

  • Name

  • HPI-O

  • Approval Number

  • Type

  • Phone

  • Email

  • Address

 
What data is excluded during a merge?

  • Different organisation types

  • Existing Correspondence Data - Correspondence generated prior to the merge will continue to reference the original organisation (the “from” organisation).
