Move

If you discover that a medication event has been recorded against the wrong patient, you can move the event to the correct patient.

To move one or more medication events from one patient to another:

1. In the Management Portal, from the top navigation menu, select Move.

   

2. Select Patients.

   

   The Search Patient popup displays with two search panels for selecting:

   1. The patient that you want to move a medication event from.
   2. The patient that you want to move a medication event to.

   

3. In the Search Patient popup, search for and select the 'From' Patient and the 'To' Patient.

   You can search using either of the following:

   • First Name, Surname and Date of Birth
   • IHI

   You need to select a check box for each panel, even if only one search result is displayed.

4. Click OK.

The event histories for the 'From' Patient and the 'To' Patient are displayed.



5. You can filter by Date or by Type of event. This is useful, if there are a large number of medication events for a patient.

6. Select the event(s) that you want to move from the 'From' Patient and click the right arrow.

   The selected event or events move to the 'To' Patient.

   You can move an event back to the 'From' Patient, if you haven't saved the changes—select the event in the 'To' Patient panel and click the left arrow.

7. Select Save.

If there is an alert associated with the event that was moved, it is automatically marked as cancelled, in order to avoid incorrect alerts being attached to a patient.

All movements of medication events between patients are posted to the audit log.
